For the second time, Comic Con Paris joins forces with Free Comic Book Day (FCBD). This initiative, driven in France by the association BDCineGoodies, aims to introduce Comic Books culture to both aficionados and newcomers, and to foster accessibility. This association, founded in 2010 by a group of connoisseurs, promotes pop culture. This inventive campaign began in the United States at the beginning of the 2000’s, and then exported abroad, crossing the Atlantic and arriving in France in 2014.
Thus, bookshop owners celebrate the FCBD by giving freely special and unique comic books – published only for this occasion – on everyday first weekends of May. Furthermore, events like dedication sessions, contests or even lotteries are held simultaneously in the bookstores.
Bliss Editions, Casterman, Delcourt, Urban Comics, Panini Comics, Glenat Comics, among many others, provide comics from famous series such as Batman Damned, Fantastic Four, Le Pouvoir du Dark Crystal, Umbrella Academy and Star Wars Adventures.
